Shinto Shrine
Today started peacefully with a long walk through that same peaceful park. This time we had more time so we stopped at many more gardens. The pictures with the koi and turtle didn't work out well but here is another iris garden where the leaflet describes how the gardeners count each bloom everyday and here he is hard at work staking them up indidually (Lloyd!?!)...
In this most comtemplative of places Otto was banging two rocks together and got something in his eye so I am teaching him mom's patented method of pulling out his eyelid and rolling his eye - it worked!
More pictures of the Shinto shrine:
The entrance tickets are even beautiful:
This is the well that brings good luck - no touching just admire the purity. The guard there called to the little bird who came to perch on his finger.
Tim has a cold and the corner pharmacist did lots of pointing to trouble spots before recommending this vile neon yellow mixture:
And when Tim saw CC Lemon with the vitamin C of 40 lemons in a vending machine he decided to give it a try. Now Otto has a favorite new drink and has to check every vending machine for CC Lemon even though his parents won't let him drink anymore for fear of canker sores:
And then we left the serenity of the park for the big city...

Oh, Otto. Well - banging rocks together *is* kinda his happy place!
Counting the flowers every day?!? Just another reason I wouldn't make it as a Japanese gardener. Amazing garden!
