First Night!
Here she is still playing with her giraffe - trying to wrap it in ribbon but also wrapping it to her hand:
We went to bed shortly after where there was a screaming fit like you wouldn't believe. Worried about the hotel neighbors we turned the light back on and Otto played cars and Tim sat and I dozed. She watched Otto and held tight to her bunny. Wanted her shoes that Tim bought her in Tokyo. Wanted her fork that we had eaten grapes and tomatoes with. Eventually Otto came back to bed and Tim pushed her onto a pillow and after many long, slow blinks she was willing to close her eyes and go to sleep.
She woke up happy and went to wake Otto and snuggle:
We only thought we would have her a day or two in Korea but they let us take her early so now we are just waiting for all the paperwork - we may get to come home earlier than our current July 10 flight but maybe not. So we didn't bring enough clothes or a stroller. Tim Craigslisted a stroller and went to get it this morning while we stayed and played. Here she is enjoying grapes and kimchee rice for breakfast while watching Looney Toons.
Put herself down for a nap about 10. When she wakes up we're back to Seoul Forest - this time no bikes just playgrounds...

Otto is a hero. It is so sweet that she turns to him. She knows how big a heart he has for small creatures and clearly his small sister. Lovely! Ps joan and Pat are visiting and they follow your blog raptly. Today's entry was both sad and sweet they tell ne to tell you.
Thanks for sharing such an extraordinary time of your life! The pictures are priceless! Otto's life will never be the same--it looks like someone has already fallen in love with him!! We are sharing your experiences a half a world away! Hurry home!
Emily, I am watching a Korean soap. This beautiful woman in it just tells the heroine "Shoes are the most important thing a girl can wear." The heroine says why. The woman says because "they take her to beautiful places." And I see YeoWon is wearing her beautiful shoes--even to bed. well, they are going to take her to a beautiful place, too. Right into MN, and to the beautiful hearts of her new family and their friends. I think these Korean women and little girls are onto something!
Love, Mom
Shoe's on the other foot, eh Otto? Did she wake up before him? Lucky for her he's a good cuddler!
