A tree!

The newest member of our family, a cedar rehomed from the Wisconsin woods...

Home improvement

In this our fourth year in our home the outside improvements are stepping up. Last summer Tim replaced/repaired and painted the front wood siding. We got new house numbers and light fixtures (but the screen door interferes - still working on that!) and just this spring Tim replaced the broken up sidewalk with new granite steps and a brick path. He also painted the front steps (back ones today!) and installed a Suki-proof gate (she could jump over the previous one in pursuit of some rodent or another). Good work, Tim!

Day at the lake

Here is the nice clean deck boat! It was chilly but the boys still thought they should go for a swim on the sand bar. Hugo threw such an enormous nutty that he got a huge kink in his neck and cried all one night until we could get him to the vet the next day. After some steriods, muscle relaxants, and strict orders for rest "ideally you would keep him in a crate for two months" he's doing well. Now we just need to remove that second mast cell tumor...

At Long Last, thanks Joan!

With one day of summer vacation under my belt I am ready to write again! Here are some good times at the cabin recently. We were using the power washer to clean the deck boat and Otto just couldn't wait to get his paws on it and you can see why. He was covered from head to toe in sandy dirt and an enormous smile. Then they took the golf cart on the trails and used the chainsaw to cut away the trees that had fallen across the path during the winter. He didn't get a turn with that!

MN Boy

Otto loves to play outside, no matter the weather. He did try to get me to push him - unsuccessfully.

Painting

These photos are actually pre-haircut (and help explain the need!). I love longer hair on Otto but it is so thin it breaks...

This is his face painting stage. I was cheerful about getting my face done until I realized it hurts. I kept saying "MORE WATER" to wet the paint stick and make it glide a little easier. Otto is officially responsible for yet another wrinkle!

Haircut

I got sick and tired of Otto's broken hair (aka the rat's nest) so although I prefer it longer he got it "cut like dad's" at dad's haircut place, Great Clips. Otto is very happy with the results, I am still on the fence.
